Play To Compete
Play to Compete where trainees focus on their skill consistency with random practice. Our goal is to focus on mental training and critical thinking during games to compete in matches/tournaments.
At Extreme Badminton Academy, we use random practice for trainees in the train to compete category as it is a time-sensitive transition which requires calibrating robust execution between different skills. This allows the trainee to develop ‘game sense’ on the court.
1) Mental training is important as it prepares the mind to help trainees perform their best, mentally and physically. Mental factors such as confidence, focus, self-belief, and motivation are crucial to athletic performance and can help take an athlete to the next level if the physical ability is already there.
2) Critical thinking is also important as it helps the trainees to choose the appropriate tactics and strategies to play during the match and against different opponents.
